Paper-cut
Paper-cut is a simple form of art, which is made by cutting color paper into different shapes. Among a variety of Chinese folk-arts, paper-cut is one of the outstanding and has enjoyed over 1,500 years of popularity. Paper-cuttings are very effective in depicting the Gospel and Bible stories. Through this medium of art, we try to adapt Christianity into to Chinese society more easily and become part of Chinese Culture.
Cloth-cut
as a popular form of folk arts, began in “Dong” dynasty in China. It is now being further developed with a modern touch. As a unique style of art, it was made by putting together different shape of textile (cotton, flax, silk, brocade, wool fabric, etc.) into a pattern or picture. It has a characteristic that is different from other paintings. The combination of different pieces of textile can always produce out-standing expressions. This kind of folk art is becoming popular.
Pearls of Christ
The Pearls of Christ help us pray and meditate, and keep our hearts open to God. Pearls have no power in themselves. They are not magic. They are not bearers of hope, trust and love. It is God that gives these gifts, and we may get them as we seek God and stay in touch with him.
The Pearls of Christ are quite new. The use of pearls for prayer, on the other hand, is an old and well-known tradition in the Christian church.
As we touch the pearls, we ask God to touch us with the healing and redeeming work of Christ. And not only us; the Pearls of Christ even remind us to pray for others and for all creation.
